Manage peers in your network and access them from the Peers page. Remember that peers are other Deskman installations in your network.
Peer List
The peer list is automatically populated with peers in the same network.
Adding Peers
- Automatically : Install Deskman—and enable Remote Deskman—on a computer in the same network and it will be automatically contacted. Otherwise, check your firewall/antivirus.
- Manually : Add peers manually by pressing the Add button. To search for peers in a network use this IP address format
nnn.nnn.nnn.*for example:10.0.0.*or192.168.1.*. Also accepted comma-separated values:192.168.1.3, 192.168.2.5and hosts names:IP2HKM, GORDON23, WINXP88.
Deleting Peers
There are two ways to remove peers:
- Delete : Select a number of peers and click Delete. Deleted peers will no longer be added automatically to the list, when found. You'll need to manually add them, in the future, until the list is reset.
- Reset : Click Settings and then click Reset to clean up the list and start over—peers will be automatically added again, and tags will be removed. Resetting the list may be useful to remove obsolete peers, or to restart the auto-detection process.
Tags
Tags allow you to classify peers and select different groups easily. Tags are not shared between peers.
- Finding Peers By Tag : Click a tag to show only peers with the selected tag.
- Assigning Tags : Select a number of peers and click the Tag button.
- Adding Tags : Click Settings to add/remove tags. Press Save when finished.
