Anfibia Deskman ™ - User Guide
Main Window
A detailed view of the different components of the main window. Press the hotkey, by default: Ctrl-Alt-F12 to show this window.
File Menu
- Remote Deskman : Opens Deskman's web interface, or the settings window, if the web interface is not enabled
- Secure : Activates selected restrictions
- Load Security Profile : Allows you to load one of the included security profiles
- Load Custom Profile : Allows you to load one of your own security profiles
- Save Custom Profile : Stores selected restrictions in a custom security profile
- Import... : Imports settings and restrictions or custom profiles, from a previously exported data file
- Export... : Exports current settings and restrictions to an external data file
- Deploy : Saves restrictions, settings and license to a special file that can be used to install and automatically activate the same configuration on multiple computers easily
- Hide : Hides Deskman
- Exit : Stops Deskman and removes it from memory
Edit Menu
- Expand All : Opens all restriction branches in all tabs
- Collapse All : Closes all restriction branches in all tabs
- Uncheck All : Deselects all restrictions in all tabs
- Delete Profile : Allows you to delete custom profiles
Options Menu
- Add Web Browsing Keywords : Allows you to add new keywords in the Web Browsing tab
- Add Key Combination : Allows you to add a new key combination in the Input tab
- Add Start Menu Application : Allows you to add a new application entry in the Start Menu tab
- Language : Allows you to manually select the interface language
- Settings : Opens the Settings window
Tools Menu
- New Task (Run...) : Executes a command
- Shut Down Options : Allows you to log off, reboot, or shut down the system
- Check for Updates : Checks if there are new Deskman versions available
Help Menu
From the Help menu you can access different sections of this User Guide, purchase Deskman, visit our website, etc.
- View License Details : Open this window to view your license, version, register your copy or obtain other product information
Action Buttons
- Secure : Activates selected restrictions
- Remote : Opens Deskman via web interface—if available
- Settings : Opens the Settings window
- Freeze : Saves the list of running applications to freeze them
- Lock : Saves the list of desktop icons to lock them
- Hide : Hides Deskman
Restriction Tabs
- Main : Restrictions to protect the desktop, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, the system, the Start Menu, the Taskbar, and drives
- Input : Restrictions to disable system keys, mouse buttons or any other key or key combination
- Start Menu : Options to enable a Safe Start Menu
- Freeze : Options to allow only a list of running applications
- Lock : Options to protect desktop icons
- Web Browsing : Options to filter websites
Status Panels
- Log : Shows the latest log entry. Full, detailed, log available on Remote Deskman
- Profile : Shows the security profile in use, if any
