FAQ
-
What are the differences between Deskman Standard and Pro licenses?
Pro licenses are required for: web access, remote desktop access, deployment, and for monitoring Deskman via Reactor. We recommend the Pro version, unless it's for personal use. -
Can I import my old data file to Deskman 11?
No. Deskman 11 is not compatible with older versions. There are so many fixes, tweaks and new features that importing old data files was not a viable option. Sorry. -
Do I need a network to make Deskman work?
No. Deskman does not require a network to be installed, or used. -
Is Deskman compatible with Group Policy?
Yes, but some group policies may be overridden by Deskman. -
Can I set up a profile for each user?
No. Restrictions are applied system-wide. You can create exceptions for particular users, or groups, though. -
What happens if I forget the password?
Contact us for assistance, and we will help you recover access to your system. -
How can I remove all restrictions?
Load the 'No Restrictions' profile. Press the Secure button. Reboot. -
Do I need to reboot every time I make changes?
It depends on the changes made. Logging off is usually enough. -
Can I deploy Deskman on multiple computers easily?
Yes. Check the Deployment guide. -
What happens when the evaluation version expires?
Deskman will not apply restrictions at startup, but you will still be able to make changes to your system, or test Deskman a bit more. Or uninstall it safely. -
How does Safe Web Browsing work?
Safe Web Browsing is very easy to use: enable it to stop all web sites. Add keywords to allow specific sites, such as your company's website, etc. It works on all modern browsers.
